During the past four years, the Ramat Hanegev Regional Council has been promoting business ventures by women, Women for Business, as part of the promotion and development of local economic potential and in view of the importance of their significant contribution to economic and community development in rural areas in general and Ramat Hanegev in particular.
In the project, all women entrepreneurs took part in workshops that gave them a relevant and updated knowledge base allowing them to promote their business, focusing on acquisition of information and tools for marketing in general and online marketing in particular.
Ramat Hanegev’s Women for Business website project, with cooperation and funding by the Ramat Hanegev – Colorado Partnership, is another step on the way to promoting businesses in the region. It is designed to give substantial exposure of the project participants’ products and business services to relevant target populations.
For purposes of the project, women business owners who did not have a website were selected, pledging to go through the entire process that included hours of counseling to characterize their business, building the website, personal guidance on building and managing a website, marketing-oriented writing of website contents and a graphic designer selected by them from among a number of [female] designers.
In the framework of the project, 12 websites have been launched so far, operated by the women taking part in the project.
Project cost per participant: NIS 5,800
Project participants bore 25% of the cost.
