Kibbutz Revivim celebrates 70 years: Israel’s president came to give his blessing

Israel’s president, Shimon Peres, visited Ramat Hanegev and took part in a special event marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Kibbutz Revivim.


During his visit, the president met with children and residents from another local community, Retamim, dined at the home of Mayor Shmuel Rifman, and gave the keynote address at the gala event held at Kibbutz Revivim.


Kibbutz Revivim recently marked a very special festive occasion – its 70th birthday! The guest of honor was none other than the honorable President of the State of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, who addressed the audience at the ceremony and praised the kibbutz members for 70 years of pioneering and Zionist efforts. Prior to the gala event the president, accompanied by the mayor of Ramat Hanegev Regional Council, Mr. Shmulik Rifman, visited the orthodox community village of Retamim, where he met with families and had his picture taken with many of the local children. Afterwards, Mr.

Peres was the guest at a dinner in his honor at the home of Mayor Rifman. Finally, he honored the members of Kibbutz Revivim with his presence at the culminating ceremony and gala event commemorating the establishment of the kibbutz 70 years ago. In his keynote speech the president commended the kibbutz members on decades of fruitful Zionist efforts in the Negev.
