A fair from the heart: Pupils of the “Zin” elementary school raised 22,000 NIS which they will donate to a fund for the welfare of Holocaust survivors in Israel
Pupils of the “Zin” elementary school at Midreshet Ben-Gurion initiated and produced a unique bazaar called “Fair from the Heart”.
At the fair the school children sold various products, many of which were the “fruits of their labor”, as well as donations of local agricultural produce, “second hand” items, and original arts and crafts. They also held an array of activities for the entire community all with the aim of raising a considerable amount of money to be donated to an organization that the school has adopted, which works for the welfare of Holocaust survivors in Israel. During the fair the “Zin” school community and the residents of Ramat Hanegev collected 22,000 NIS.
The fair was the culminating event of an educational learning and action process among elementary school children that fosters values of giving and doing for others while creating a meaningful communal encounter which the school sees itself being a part of.
